LTC Jason B. Avery

503rd MP BN Commander

Lieutenant Colonel Jason B. Avery is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. He commissioned in 1999 from North Georgia Military Academy within the United States Army Military Police Corps and earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. He is a graduate of the Basic and Advanced Airborne School, Military Police Officer Basic and Advance Course, the Combined Arms Services and Staff School, and Intermediate Level Education. He earned a Master of Arts in Business and Organizational Security Management from Webster’s University.

He has served in a variety of assignments to include: Platoon Leader, 118 th MP CO (ABN); Platoon Leader, 82d MP CO; Assistant Battalion Operations Officer, 503d MP BN (ABN); Assistant Battalion Operations Officer, 793d MP BN; Company Commander, 615 th MP CO; MPBOLC Small Group Leader; 14 th MP BDE; Battalion Operations Officer, 97 th MP BN; AT/FP OIC, CENTCOM Forward-Jordan; Chief, Law and Order, Third Army/USARCENT; Deputy Brigade Commander, 14 th MP BDE; Deputy Brigade Commander, 16 th MP BDE.

His awards include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (3), Army Commendation Medal (2), Army Achievement Medal, Meritorious Unit Citation, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, GWOT-Expeditionary Medal, GWOT Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (2), Combat Action Badge, Senior Parachutist Badge, and the German Armed Forces Efficiency Badge (Bronze). LTC Avery is a recipient of the Order of the Marchaussee in Bronze.

He served under three different military campaigns in the War on Terror: Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Noble Eagle.
