Reclassification Process

 

MOS 89D is not gender specific, both Females and Males are allowed to request reclassification for this MOS.

Non-promotable Sergeants with less than EIGHT years time in SERVICE as of the date of EOD APPLICATION.

Sergeants currently are not eligible to submit a BEAR application for MOS 89D.

Soldiers who previously terminated volunteer status for MOS 89D may not reapply for the EOD program. Soldiers are not eligible to apply when they:

Are under court-martial proceedings, investigation that may result in trial by court-martial, or suspension of favorable personnel actions. (See AR 600–8–2.)

Have been relieved from EOD training or duty due to punitive action, cancellation of security clearance, or personal request for relief from EOD.

Have lost time under 10 USC 972 within two years of the date of application.
