Planning Team Philosophy
Planning
is integral for the sustainability of an installation’s
progress and mission. Contingency planning for changing
demographics, economic opportunities, and regional
influences show the way forward.
Fort Bragg
There
exists an opportunity for Fort Bragg to benefit from
adopting a progressive city’s planning model. BRAC, FORSCOM,
GWOT, regional population growth, and the areas
attractiveness as a retirement destination have conspired to
affect Fort Bragg’s future in the short-term, long-term, and
all at once. As each of these “changes” are launched they
tend to reach their apex gathering plans, influence, and
advocates before landing on the Installation with individual
needs and resource requirements.
Our
purpose is to catch these changes as they begin flight
before they reach their apex. Planning is key to integrating
growth with on-going activities . Integration will certainly
lead to more resourceful management, leveraging of scarce
resources, and more efficient operation. Big picture
planning leads to successful operations, and mission
accomplishment now and for the future.
To
effectively plan for now and the future the Sustainable
Communities Garrison Goal Team includes members from across
the installation. Subject area experts are contained within
each individual team and team sub-committees. Projects
within each Directorate are briefed to team members allowing
installation-wide communication of ideas and resource
leveraging. Discovering overlap or conflicting projects and
programs will ensure resources are more efficiently applied
throughout Fort Bragg. Garrison Command will have developed
a succinct team of communicators, assisting efforts to
increase resource and budgetary efficiency to Fort Bragg.
